New Project: Hanover Square

Nestled in the heart of London, a stone's throw from where fashion meets art and contemporary architecture, lies our latest interior design masterpiece: a luxury private residence brought to life in collaboration with the prestigious Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. This project embodies the essence of Studio Miaki's design philosophy, where every space tells a unique story, and each room becomes a canvas for artistic expression.

Join us on a journey through the creative process, inspiration, and the fusion of materials, colors, and artistry. But that's not all - step behind the scenes as we engage in an insightful interview with one of the brilliant designers behind this extraordinary project.

Design Concept & Inspiration

Our design journey began with the very location itself, where the building's luxury, contemporary architecture stands as a testament to its place in one of London's most historic squares. We drew inspiration from the inlaid brick panels that grace the building, a nod to its rich surroundings. Here, fashion and art converge, setting the stage for a design concept that would integrate with the vibrant atmosphere of Hanover Square.

Materials, Colors & Textures

At the core of our design philosophy for this project was the idea of creating a flow throughout the apartment while allowing each room to have its distinct identity. We achieved this by striking a balance between high-spec luxury interior architecture, featuring a rich palette of materials such as marbles and polished chrome, and bold textiles infused with playful, abstract art.

Vivid accents of colourful fabrics and contrasting patterns breathe life into each space. The colour palette, inspired by the surrounding fashion boutiques and art galleries, reflects the dynamic spirit of Hanover Square. From walls adorned with statement art to patterned textiles and trims, every choice contributes to the vibrant atmosphere of this project.

Interview with Our Designer

We sat down with one of the designers behind this project to gain insights into the creative process. Here's a glimpse into their thoughts:

Interviewer: Can you tell us about the inspiration behind the design concept for the Hanover Square project? What were the key elements that influenced your creative process?

Designer: Certainly. The Hanover Square project was a unique canvas for us. We drew our inspiration from the building's contemporary architecture, particularly those striking inlaid brick panels. It set the tone for a design concept that celebrated luxury and the neighborhood's arts scene. It was about creating a blend of contemporary luxury and artistic flair.

Interviewer: Could you walk us through the selection process for materials, colors, and textures used in the Hanover Square design? How do these choices contribute to the overall ambiance of the space?

Designer: Our material choices were pivotal in achieving our design goals. We aimed to strike a balance between a rich palette of materials, including marble and polished chrome, and textiles infused with abstract art. The vibrant colors and contrasting patterns we introduced played a significant role in shaping the ambiance.

Interviewer: Designing a space for a specific location like Hanover Square must involve a consideration of the surrounding environment. How did the location influence your design decisions?

Designer: Absolutely. We wanted each room to resonate with the creative spirit of Hanover Square. To achieve this, we curated a playful yet refined palette, drawing inspiration from the nearby fashion boutiques and art galleries. Mixing patterned textiles and trims allowed us to infuse the environment's artistic vibrancy into our design.

Interviewer: Design trends evolve over time. How did you ensure that the design of the Hanover Square project would stand the test of time and remain appealing for years to come?

Designer: Timelessness was a key consideration. We balanced vibrant art with fitted neutral materials. This created not only visual interest but also a sense of enduring luxury. Our aim was to create spaces that evolve gracefully, remaining inspiring and captivating well into the future.

The Hanover Square project stands as a testament to the power of design to capture the spirit of a location. It's a celebration of luxury, art, and contemporary living, all harmoniously woven together to create spaces that inspire and endure. As we look ahead, we're excited to continue sharing our journey with you, one project at a time.
